As Mayor, I was appointed Chair of Grants for Hop Bottom Borough. Within the first month of serving in this position, I identified and presented several grant related project opportunities for consideration. Unfortunately, none of the proposed projects were accepted at that time.

While this was disappointing, the process helped highlight both the needs of the Borough and the importance of having a clear, organized approach to grant planning. Grant opportunities often require preparation, documentation, cost estimates, public support, and timely decision making. Without that structure in place, even worthwhile projects can be difficult to move forward.

I continue to believe that Hop Bottom can benefit from a more proactive grant strategy. With better planning, stronger communication, and a willingness to evaluate projects on their merits, the Borough can be better positioned to pursue funding opportunities that support public safety, infrastructure, beautification, community development, records modernization, and long term improvement.
